The Brasserie de la Lesse is a cooperative with a social purpose where we brew craft beer, and where we reinvent the world with meaningful projects : ecological and local raw materials, low energy brewery, local fair trade.
- THE CONFRÉRIE DU BUSSON
At the end of the 90s, several former animators of the Buissonville patro started the tradition of getting together and enjoying a good beer.
One thing led to another and eventually they created the Brotherhood of Busson, which strives to taste and promote beer.
- LESSE BREWERY
In 2011, the members of the Busson Brotherhood revived the Brasserie de la Lesse, which was a brewery active in the 20th century in the village of Lessive.
In order to do this, they reopened the former Rezette Brewery, which once brewed ’La Rochefortoise’ beers in the heart of the village of Éprave.
- A PRO BREWERY, BUT WITH SOCIAL OBJECTIVES
Anxious to create a local and ethical company, the confreres who have now become colleagues, decided that the brewery will be a social cooperative with the following objectives :
- Relocation of the economy
- Creation of activity in rural areas
- Participatory activity
The beginnings are a little folkloric. The material needed was more capricious than expected. But the support of Crédal and 160 bold co-operators ensures that this small business had a sufficient financial base to get on track and produce its first brew in January 2012.
At the end of 2017, the brewery moved to à recently renovated farm a little further down the road. Now equipped with high-performance brewery equipment, a new chapter begins for this small brewery rochefortoise.
The cooperative currently has :

And more than 300 cooperators !
