The project is currently supported by a group of about 30 motivated citizens - all volunteers ! - and more than 60 cooperators.
Coopesem started from a small group of producers. These were brought together by the LAG (Local Action Group of Entre-Sambre-et-Meuse). After several months of meetings and debates, the decision to create a new cooperative structure is taken. The idea is to form a group of producers AND consumers in order to develop a local short-circuit distribution channel in the Entre-Sambre-et-Meuse. The conviviality, the equality and the envy of tasty and quality products are at the heart of their dynamics.

In early 2017, a call for project sponsors was launched. On February 20, 2017, the first meeting of the cooperative was organized. It brought together about thirty citizens (producers and consumers).

The idea of setting up an online shopping system is really quite simple : the consumers order their products via a web platform and then they receive their order at the drop-off point closest to their home.
